SCAFFOLDING BREAK-IN

a burglar was able to break in to an apartment on april 8 at 5 p.m. by climbing on construction scaffolding. police said there were signs that the burglar tried to enter through the basement window of the west 84th street building, near columbus avenue. when that failed, the intruder apparently climbed the scaffolding and broke in from the second-floor window. several items were taken. cops said the robber left a metal wire used to enter the window on the scene.
