RIVERSIDE SOUTH MEETING
the riverside south scoping meeting will be held by the city planning commission on jan. 8. the public is encouraged to attend the meeting and give input on what should be included in the scope of the environmental impact study. the project, developed by extell, will be built between west 59th and 61st streets along the hudson river. the scoping meeting is the first step in the land-use review process. when the review is completed, community board 7 will hold public hearings on the plan. community board 7 has held pre-scoping process meetings in the past on different aspects of the riverside south project, including housing, transportation and business interests. helen rosenthal, the board's chair, said she planned to present the commission with a list of questions and concerns that extell has left out of the land use process. "it's not broad enough," rosenthal said. "the community is saying to city planning that they should be asking the developer to study a more comprehensive look at the plan." the scoping meeting will be held on jan. 8 at the commission's office, 22 reade st., in lower manhattan from 2 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
