The Loyola Knights one-two punch was evident this season, with co-captains Mike Frank and Jake Preston leading the way.
Frank became Loyola’s leading career scorer this year, amassing 1,749 points, surpassing Andrew Leone career tally. Leone now plays for NCAA Division 1 school Fairfield. Frank is described as a prolific scorer by Coach Fred Agnostakis, can both shoot from range — he drained 33 3-pointers — and drive to the basket.
Preston is an all-around player, who can score, rebound and defend and was given multiple duties by Agnostakis. “He is often given charge of guarding the opponent’s best player and is always in the middle of the fray,” the coach said.
The duo now leads the Knights into the New York City Athletic League playoffs.
