Gale Brewer Raises $42K in 3 Days
Councilwoman Gale Brewer recently filed her first financial report for her borough president campaign to replace Scott Stringer. Just 72 hours after her unofficial announcement, Brewer had raised a total of $42,000. Supporters have not just come from her home and roots in District 6, the Upper West Side, but have also come borough-wide, in Harlem and Clinton as well.
"With my work on behalf of the people of New York, I have devoted myself to improving our quality of life, shaping and leading on the city's critical issues, and upholding our common values, and their appreciation shows in the support I have already seen for my campaign, Brewer said in a statement.
Brewer has served the City Council since 2002. She has been the Chair of Governmental Operations since 2010, and has authored legislation that has worked toward open government, health and human rights, and quality of life.
