WNBC Wants You!
Last week, [WNBC held its first Blogger Summit]. But the fact that us lowly bloggers got to hang out on the set of the Conan OBrien Show wasnt the biggest surprise the evening had in store. Nor was the fact that we got to buy our own booze and eat shrimp (those yummy little cockroaches of the sea). No, [the real shocker was that the bigwig station was asking self-made bloggers to share their scoops in exchange for mention](http://www.nypress.com/blogx/display_blog.cfm?bid=90761890&day=1&startmonth=2&startyear=2007). Not surprisingly, the only nods so far have been in the direction of blogs like Gothamist and Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn, not ones like Joe Schmo Hearts NY. Heres my interpretation: The fact is, the little guy is finally living in a day and age when connection to the big guy conglomerates isnt necessary to be successful. But now one such conglomerate is implying that they are actually valuable to the little guy, when really its the former who needs the latter. Why, this little bloggers heart is near breaking.
