Yesterday, radio show hosts Opie and Anthony laughed at a homeless mans confession that hed like to [rape Condoleezza Rice], Laura Bush and Queen Elizabeth. Pretty lofty goals, huh?
Id love to f--- that b----, Homeless Charlie declared.
Opie and Anthony apparently found this uproarious, laughing as they discussed a violent sexual encounter in which Rice is punched in the face.
XM spokesman Nathaniel Brown told The Associated Press today, We deplore the comments made on Wednesdays Opie & Anthony Show. No word yet as to whether or not XM will take disciplinary action. If they do, we wonder if theyll target the exploitative duo who got a homeless man to make their dirty jokes or Homeless Charlie himself for having a fantasy that is just plain wrong.
Yesterday, Opie and Anthony made their own statement, We take very seriously the responsibility that comes with our creative freedom and [regret any offense] that this segment has caused. We dont know if that really counts as an apology so much as advise to pull that stick out of your ass
Anthony said he found Homeless Charlies comments horrible and awful, (but, apparently, funny to boot). He also pointed out that you can talk about beating up old ladies and nobody stops you, but make one insulting joke about an ethnic group and youre fired. Well, we guess well see if thats true, wont we?
