It seems [Flushing Meadows Park] has been deemed one of the most dangerous in the city. According to the latest NYPD statistics, 21 violent crimes were reported during the last three months of 2006. That’s 7 crimes each month, or 1.75 a week, if the perps were to commit their crimes on a regular basis. NY1 reports, “Local leaders urge the department to create a precinct in the park to help curb the crime.” That outta do it.

The Post says data released by the City Council yesterday reveals that crime in the Queens park is on the rise. The NYPD, however, say the two people who are largely responsible for this ranking have been [arrested]. Belter Yovanni Rivera and Marcos Polanco, both 17, were caught in January for committing a total of 11 attacks all in the park. Well, no one can say teens lack focus.
