Sure, we could report on the fact that a school [bus carrying special education children overturned ]in Queens this afternoon when a man driving a stolen SUV collided with it leaving at least [eight students injured](http://www.wnbc.com/news/13235781/detail.html?dl=mainclick)—just like the movies, right?—but this is far more interesting: A hopelessly devoted New York [Mets fan must spend 15 days behind bars](http://www.1010wins.com/pages/408962.php?contentType=4&contentId=459519) after pleading guilty today to shining a high-powered flashlight at an Atlanta Braves pitcher and shortstop during a game there last month. Even worse, Bronx resident Frank Martinez, 40, has been banned from Shea Stadium for three years!

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown issued the following statement: “In a game in which the ball can travel upward of 110 mph, the defendant's actions were dangerous to both spectators and players.”

During an April 20th game, Martinez used his prime spot behind home plate to turn the beam on Braves pitcher Tim Hudson and shortstop Edgar Renteria. Mets fans do what they gotta do. The [Braves were leading 7-0] at the time. But thanks to Martinez, they lost 14-7! Just kidding.
