What Dancing Zombies Have in Common With Union Protests

    Last Friday, a "zombie flash mob" demonstrated against Sony near Union Square, calling for changes in healthcare access for workers and criticizing one of the technology giant's contractors. The union 32BJ, which planned the event, distributed a press release claiming that "Sony zombifies workers by dealing with irresponsible contractors!" A Sony spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The [union alleges](http://www.seiu32bj.org/au/PR_2012_0817NY.asp) that security officers at Sony's Manhattan headquarters don't have access to affordable healthcare and receive no sick days in the first year, conditions it called "terrifying." It also accused the company of using [Foxconn](http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/20/technology/pressures-drive-change-at-chinas-electronics-giant-foxconn.html?_r=1), an Asian company, to manufacture its products despite reports of poor working conditions at Foxconn's factories.
