West Side Brawl
Two teens were arrested on June 21 for assaulting a 19-year-old Bronx man on the southwest corner of Columbus Avenue and West 72nd Street. Police said that on July 21 at 11:04 p.m., the Bronx man was walking with his girlfriend when one of the teens made a comment to the woman. Emilio Lopez, 19, allegedly started to punch the victim in the head, then took off his belt and used it as a weapon. Lopez and another 19-year-old, Martin Hernandez, were arrested. However, in a separate report, police said that Hernandez, tried to break up the fight but was attacked by Lopez. Lopez then allegedly took a glass bottle from the trash and threw it at Hernandez, hitting him in the head. Police picked up both teens.
