Early in the morning of Saturday, May 25, a 24-year-old man was about to leave a bar on Thompson Street when he was approached by four or five men who began to kick and punch him in his head and face without reason. The young man sustained lacerations, bruising, and swelling to his face and head as a result of the assault. The injured man stated that he did not know the perpetrators who assaulted him and had not had a verbal confrontation with them prior to the assault. His friends detained one of the gang members until the police arrived. The gang member, a 27-year-old man, was arrested May 25 and charged with assault.
