Wallet Woe

Just before noon on Thursday, June 20, a 40-year-old woman paid for items in a deli on West End Avenue and accidentally left her wallet behind on the counter. When she returned to the store about twenty minutes later, she found her wallet was no longer where she had left it. The store manager looked at surveillance footage and saw an unknown woman with a ponytail pick up the 40-year-old woman's wallet and leave the store. The ponytailed perpetrator charged $2,700 of merchandise to the victim's credit cards. Other items in the wallet taken included the victim's North Carolina driver's license, college ID, and healthcare and Social Security cards.
