Vigil for Sean Bell
Sean Bell’s mom begins a 24 hours a day, 50-day vigil outside the police precinct—one day for each bullet fired on Nov. 25. Other family members and friends will be taking turns standing “for peace and justice” during the coming days. A banner depicting the deceased, 50 illustrated bullet holes and the words “Never Again” is hung nearby. The family is hoping to urge newly inaugurated Gov. Spitzer to appoint a special prosecutor to the case.
