Tool Theft

a man came to work at a west side building on june 30 at 2 p.m. to find his tools had been stolen. the 42-year-old maintenance man told police that his apprentice had locked up at 229 w. 60th st., between amsterdam and west end avenues, the night before. when he returned in the afternoon, the lock was broken, the door latch damaged and tools worth $2,790 were missing.
