In light of the ongoing controversy over Wal-Mart’s surveillance of employees and just about anyone else they wanted to check into, City Comptroller Bill Thompson has issued a letter to the Attorney General and the SEC demanding that they take a long hard look at the retailer’s conduct, calling it "chilling and truly outrageous."
“This conduct,” said Thompson
in his letter to the SEC, “reflects breathtakingly flawed judgment and raises
significant questions regarding Wal-Mart’s commitment to its shareholders and
the public markets.”
