I guess I wonder if a video is the best way to promote a book. Isn’t it kind of like using a song to promote a painting?

Or maybe it’s a way of bringing new readers to books. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with these.

The book trailer phenom has been rising out here in the West for some time. The difference lately is production values…New Star’s work on the ‘Daaku’ trailer is of major quality. It may be too early, though, to see if these elaborate advertisements have an effect on sales. My book ‘Anticipated Results’ has a trailer that’s been up on youtube for over a year and I have yet to hear from my publisher whether or not it bumped sales.

Amazing! The line between literature and film is being blurred for sure. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I guess the question about the literature of film is interesting here… is film literature. At a community debate event in Whistler, BC the motion “this house believes the internet is killing literature” was debated. This writer’s input would have been interesting for sure. Love the sea monster trailer!
