A friend forwarded this to me because he knew my grandfather was A.P. Thompson. I had the compilation album that was reproduced some time in the 70s or 80s. My grandfather's entire offspring were musical and gospel music was always done at family gatherings. My father Fred, his brother Ralph, his sisters Ruth and Pauline all knew music and played by ear just about any instrument. I never once heard my grandfather talk about his days of singing in a band, never. I would have found that very interesting as a kid, but it was never mentioned that I recall. You stories are very interesting and understanding how religious my grandfather was, makes it really interesting. Thanks for sharing it.
