Thanks to Everyone For Making the First New Amsterdam Bicycle Show a Success

Written by Staff on . Posted in Breaking News, Posts.

Bikes were locked to just about every available pole or rail alongside West 22nd Street this past Saturday morning as people lined up to enter the New Amsterdam Bicycle Show. Thanks to all of those who attended, supported us and made this such an amazing event, including our main event sponsors: Raleigh, Chrome, Bicycling Magazine, Road ID, SRAM, Ace Hotel, B-cycle, La Colombe, Momentum Magazine and Narragansett.

As David Schloss at Bike Hugger wrote afterward, the show "combined a bit of bike love with a good dose of activism… Bike shows like the New Amsterdam are a great way for like-minded people to meet, but then they’ve got to all stay in contact and not ride off by themselves." We look forward to the next one, and to our ongoing bicycling coverage in the weeks and months until then.

Never owned a bike that is sad, Sabrina. I rode for hours and hours as a child during uemmsr vacations. Now mind you I don’t think any of my bikes were every new. My parent never had extra money when I was growing up so good used was a term well known in our family, but I never cared.I do like this photo hidden in the bushes and vines waiting for it’s owner to grab the handlebars, throw a leg over and off it goes. A lot of people run away to discover later they’d packed their problems/issues and brought them with them. You know, a life on the road could describe an attitude about living life open, adventuresome, and acknowledging with awareness and a sence of newness each of those things you experience. But it’s true we also sometimes need to make major changes externally. I’ve had those moments too. Take care!
