    a cab driver made off with a fare's driver's license and credit card while the man got out to retrieve cash for payment. police said that on july 12 at around 3:30 a.m., the 28-year-old victim hailed a cab at west 52nd street and ninth avenue to take him home. when the driver arrived at the passenger's apartment, he reportedly told the passenger that the credit card machine was broken. cops said the victim decided to head to a deli on west 78th street to use the atm; the driver asked for the passenger's license and credit card as collateral. when the man went to get cash, the driver drove away.
