We reported on cases of anti-Semitic vandalism throughout Brooklyn neighborhoods in recent weeks, now it appears even more cases are cropping up.

Police believe it’s possible the owners of a dozen vehicles in Williamsburg, which had windows shattered by a pellet gun overnight, were targets of anti-Semitic vandals, reports What’s News, an Orthodox Jewish Community newspaper.

The attack on the vehicles occurred shortly after Rabbi Aron Kraus of Williamsburg was targeted in his vehicle by a shooter, who pulled up beside him and proceeded to shoot out his windows.

Brooklyn Scoop reports hateful anti-Semitic messages were also scrawled on a Williamsburg street last night. This past Friday, an Orthodox man was assaulted on the way home from Shul in Sheepshead Bay, the Scoop also reports.

Police continue to look for connections in all these cases.

The latest acts of anti-Semitic vandalism in Brooklyn have left Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn and Council member Brad Lander appalled.

“Hateful crimes that attempt to terrorize our neighborhoods will not be tolerated,” said Quinn in a statement released today. “New Yorkers enjoy a proud tradition of celebrating diversity and we will not stand for these cowardly attacks. I thank the NYPD Hate Crimes task force for their swift action, and urge anyone with information to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1 -866-313-TIPS.”

Council Member Lander agrees.

“This despicable act of anti-Semitism pains our community, but brings us together.  I urge the NYPD to arrest and prosecute those responsible for this hateful crime. At times like this, we must unite with communities across New York to keep our city a tolerant, welcoming home,” said Lander.

The out speak is a result of spray-painted swastikas and hateful messages on Brooklyn buildings in neighborhoods such as Midwood, that have garnered attention in the media since the beginning of the year. Last week, vandals struck six places in Borough Park during the night, painting swastikas on businesses and places of religious observance, including a synagogue.

The NYPD have released surveillance video of the vandals responsible and are looking for any leads to their arrests.

Councilman David Greenfield is offering $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
