Russell Shearin was arrested on Sept. 25 for attempting to break into his neighbor’s apartment. STOLEN WALLET RETURNED

A woman had her stolen wallet returned after a passerby retrieved it from the thief. Police said that on Sept. 26 at 7 a.m., a thief snatched the wallet from the 29-year-old woman’s purse while she was walking near the southwest corner of Broadway and West 106th Street. VAN STOLEN DURING DELIVERY

A Merrick, N.Y. deliveryman had his van stolen while dropping off produce to a store at 2171 Broadway, between West 77th and 76th streets.
