Perhaps the most interesting political news of the day comes out of Albany, where newly minted Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and Albany District Attorney David Soares (pictured left) announced a new partnership to investigate and prosecute capitol crimes.

The two offices will coordinate resources, share staff, and overall put their heads together to prosecute the misuse of state funds by state officials. Soares was a key player in the takedown of Comptroller Alan Hevesi, and so far Cuomo has talked a good game, vowing to review every member item doled out in this year's budget.

Could the Albany gravy train be coming to a halt?
