Super Long Weekend for NYSE?

| 11 Nov 2014 | 01:18

[The New York Stock Exchange may close on Jan. 2 to honor President Gerald Ford]. President George W. announced that the Tuesday of Ford's funeral will be a national day of mourning. That means a lot of you lucky folks will have a four-day weekend! But of course you’ll be home, nursing a wicked hangover in honor of the guy Nixon referred to as “impeachment insurance.” A full-day closure would continue a nearly four-decade old tradition of marking the deaths of American presidents by ceasing trade, but NYSE is waiting to hear from the White House before giving traders a bonus vacation day. Cue the schmaltzy music and photo montage. (FYI: That studly pic is how we should always remember Mr. President Ford.)
