Subway Track Worker's Sketchbook

Marvin Franklin was a subway track worker by night, an artist by day, until he was killed in the line of duty April 29, 2007, while working the late shift. Now there's a chance to remember the man and his work. Beginning this week, the [New York Transit Museum] in Brooklyn displays pieces from Franklin's sketchbook. Take a look at what a close observer of the city's transit system saw every day until March 2008.

    Boerum Place and Schermerhorn St., Brooklyn Heights, 718-694-1600; Tues-Fri. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sat. &  Sun. Noon-5 p.m., $3-$5.
