There are some 40 or so new apartment towers on the Upper West Side, including the entire Trump development. That incorporating new school facilities as a requirement of permitting these buildings was not done by the city/DOB is the real insult. These buildings are what is driving the explosion in school age kids, and the geniuses in charge of long term planning at the city and the Board of Ed should have easily anticipated what every resident could plainly see
