Sound How You Want to Look: AVSWap 2008

| 11 Nov 2014 | 02:03

Audio and visual—a techy match made in heaven. But what if you don’t do sound? Or your creative eye is limited to the ear? Maybe you should try [AVSwap 2008], an event that brings filmmakers and musicians together. Organized in 2004 in Houston, Texas, by Michelle Hempton, this year marks the fifth AVSwap. It started at only 10 submissions but each year has drawn more and more people. This is the first year they are taking New York entries and will potentially swap film and sound between both NY and TX in a Southwest/East Coast collaboration.

The deadline for submissions is next Friday, July 17.  After you submit, you'll be assigned either film or audio depending on your preference, and will have to make a personal piece for it. Essentially you will be making two films or two musical compositions.

The final pieces will be screened at the [Village East Cinema] in late September. For more information or to see more videos, visit the website at [www.theavswap.com](http://www.theavswap.com).
