Skinny Folks Make Subway Travel Suck

| 11 Nov 2014 | 01:18

It seems recent subway delays are the result of crash dieting. [According to the MTA], passengers who faint due to not eating are among the top causes of subway holdups, after track work and signal problems. So when the train stops during the rush hour commute, blame the chick wearing a size 0 who skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner. If a passenger becomes sick, a conductor must stay with him or her—and so must of all their fellow riders—until EMTs arrives. Now you have another reason to hate all those celebrity skeleton role models. [AM New York](http://www.amny.com/news/local/newyork/am-subway0102,0,1267185.story?coll=am-topheadlines) reports that an average of 395 delays a month are caused by sick passengers, and flu and hangovers don't rank nearly as high as self-starvation.
