To the Editor:
If the New York City Council had its way, there would be no circus in town. Only in the land of Oz (otherwise known as the New York City Council), would legislation proposed (for the third year in a row) supported by 26 Council members to ban Ringling Brothers circus from performing in the Big Apple. Consumers can vote with their pocketbooks by buying or not buying tickets to the Circus. If Council members are so concerned about animal abuse, perhaps they could adopt one of the numerous stray cats and dogs looking for a good home. Terminate their employment via the ballot box so they have to seek employment elsewhere in 2009. Perhaps some can try out as circus clowns.
