New York-Presbyterian Hospitals will have to scale back last year's plan to build a new eco-friendly,15-story building with an ambulatory care center and a maternity ward on York Avenue between East 68 and 69th streets. Due to a shortage of funds, it has currently suspended its maternity program, set to include 12 new operating and endoscopy rooms as well as private beds for mothers and newborns. Nevertheless, it will leave room to add in the maternity amenities should funds become available.
