Rutgers skewers Bulls

Coming off their best-ever season and being ranked in the preseason polls for the first time in their history, it wouldn’t have surprised anyone if the No. 12 Rutgers Scarlet Knights came out a little overconfident versus lowly University of Buffalo last night.  They quickly disproved that notion, however, [crushing Buffalo 38-3] and flaunting their entire arsenal of offensive weapons.

Heisman Trophy-hopeful Ray Rice rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns, but the Scarlet Knights proved they could do more than run. Wide receiver Tiguan Anderson caught 10 passes for a school-record 248 yards and two TDs in the rout, and quarterback Mike Teel threw for a career-best 328 yards. Rutgers, who hopes to win the Big East Championship this season after finishing with a sparkling 11-2 record last year, should get another easy “W” again next week, when they welcome Navy to Piscataway on Saturday.
