The search is on for the man who attacked one, possibly two elderly women this weekend. A police fraternal organization is offering a reward of $18,000, up from $1,000, for the arrest of the mugger who beat 101-year-old Rose Morat and, if cops’ suspicions are correct, 85-year-old Solange Elizee. Meanwhile, Senator Martin Golden of Brooklyn is pushing to make assault on anyone more than 70 years old a felony, as opposed to a misdemeanor punishable by no more than one year in jail.
In a statement, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said, "We are pulling out all the stops to find him. He’s assaulted two defenseless, elderly women. We want to stop him before he strikes again. The public has been responsive with over a thousand calls to our crimestoppers tips line. Most of the callers are volunteering exactly what they want to do to this guy, but some have provided leads that our detectives are actively investigating. If you know who did this, please call us." We’re sure your revenge fantasies are quite imaginative and intriguing, but remember that sharing them only clogs up the line. Better to stoke them privately and leave future castrations or beheadings to the cops.
