Pseudo-Celebrity Sex Tape To Be Removed From Shelves
Kim Kardashian is "famous" for two reasons: she is Paris Hilton's friend and she has a sex tape, a tape that has been marketed as a "celebrity" sex tape because she is friends with Hilton.
If you're at all interested in Kardashian's sex tape with R&B singer Ray J (another "famous" individual) you better hurry up and get it quick, because distributor Vivid Entertainment has announced that they will stop selling the tape on May 31.
According to the release, Vivid's decision is personal, and has nothing to do with Kardashian's so far failed legal maneuvering to keep the tape out of stores. "We have always believed we have the right to sell the tape, but Ive made a personal decision to suspend sales, said Stephen Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid.
As part of the settlement, Kardashian will receive an undisclosed lump sum for past sales. The tape was originally bought by Vivid from a mysterious unknown third-party for $1 million, and rumors have swirled since the start of this whole fiasco that the seller was actually Kardashian, trying to use her own sex tape to vault herself into superstardom like her friend Paris.
How'd that turn out?
