an immediate opening for an experienced (minimum one year), part-time proofreader
in our editorial department, approximately 15-20 hours per week, including weekend
hours and long Mondays. Ideal candidate will have a thorough command of grammar
and spelling, be extremely meticulous and detail-oriented, able to work both
independently and in a fast-paced, deadline- oriented atmosphere. Familiarity
with New York Press a big plus.

New York Press seeks
interns in the Listings Dept. for 2001. Students preferred, but anyone looking
to gain experience in the production of a weekly newspaper is welcome to apply.
Applicants must have a sense of goings-on around the city and be willing to
work one to two days a week. Responsibilities include opening mail, phone calls,
data entry, non-fluffy writing and contributing to supplements.
