For those of you who, like me, didn’t even know Nina Simone’s performance at Montreux 1976 was a thing to be watched and admired, the real value of this event is that now you do. Simone is a powerhouse of crazy and talent, perhaps unhinged but always in control. Tonight, the entire thing is reenacted with Roslyn Hart, the superb cabaret artist, playing Simone. There’ll be video, there’ll be pathos, there’ll be music, there’ll be joy.

Bottom Line: Relive an epic breakdown and breakthrough of one of the 20th-century’s great performers.
