Preserve West Park

several years ago, before hugo meneses defaced the sanctuary he claims loyalty to, i had considered becoming a member of west park presbyterian church. mr. meneses states that landmarking the church only interests the neighborhood's rich people, and is not supported by its congregants ("church member arrested during landmark protest," april 22). i make less than $25,000 a year and live in an sro. after attending a meeting where church members voted to have the historic chapel demolished, i never returned to another service at west park. their protest has nothing to do with religious freedom. michael scott cutler west 79th street
