Can there be any doubt?
Just look around (just kidding, as it is hard to see a cyclist going the wrong way without
lights at night!).

The reason the police gave up is that a) they and their families are not affected, since they
live out of town where civility is the rule, and b) the general population is apathetic, with
the young set easily dodging danger, while the old have learned to stay in at night, while just “grinning and bearing it” during the day.

Just some thoughts (I know, from a voice in the wilderness)
