Poll Finds More Like Mike

Apparently led by Mayor Mike Bloomberg and his switch from Republican to independent (which followed a previous switch from Democrat to Republican) more voters have taken to identifying themselves as of neither party.

A new Gallup Poll finds 37% of Americans of voting age voters now call themselves "independent," while Democrats and Republicans split the remainder about evenly at 32-29.

Does this mean people are running from partisanship? Hardly. The poll indicates that such a number is typical of off-years with no congressional races. When the action heats up, voters tend to choose sides.
