Ms. Dove, I live at 90th and 1st and have witnessed you feeding the pigeons the last four years by spreading food waste all over our sidewalks. While my tax dollars don’t have to directly clean-up your litter, the pigeons and rats attracted by your litter take care of that, you make our neighborhood a more miserable place to live. All exterior balconies, roofs, fire-escapes and other surfaces are covered in pigeon poop and the rats are getting bolder everyday. As the parent of young children, I find your actions unconscionable. As a citizen and taxpayer, I’m shocked that what you do is allegedly legal. Shame on selfish people like you; inflicting your love of vermin on the entire neighborhood without a thought for the tens of thousands of people who live there.

I know another woman who feeds the pigeons in front of her apartment bldg and across the street from the church. That woman is lonely and has told me that without “her” birds, she would have nothing. Perhaps Anna Dove is a lonely woman also. Maybe neighbors should show a little compassion and spend some time with her, instead of alienating her.

Please feed the pigeons on your own sidewalk. I don’t like to step out of my building in the morning and elude 40 pigeons five steps from my front door.
