Park Smoking Ban

To the Editor:
The April 15 edition of Our Town included a front-page picture of people reading while sitting on the benches along Carl Schurz esplanade. Unfortunately, such a serene scene is often marred by hardcore smokers who pollute the air with their toxic second-hand smoke! Isn"t it about time the mayor and City Council members pass a law prohibiting smoking from public parks in New York City?
