    Pledge 2 Protect, a coalition of several organizations aiming to stop the building of the Marine Transfer Station at 91st and East End Avenue in Yorkville has obtained

    20,000 signatures from New York City residents. The organization's goal is to support only politicians who publicly state their opposition to Marine Transfer Stations in any residential neighborhood. "We have reached our goal well ahead of our anticipated projections and will look to maintain this momentum and add an additional 10,000 voices," said Kelly Nimmo-Guenther, President of Pledge 2 Protect.

    Among the groups in Pledgee 2 Protect are Asphalt Green, the East 79th Street Neighborhood Coalition, East 93rd Block Association, Parent Leaders of Upper East Side Schools, The Carl Schurz Park Conservancy, and Residents for Sane Trash Solutions, Inc.
