It seems [thousands of people called the NYPD subway and bus hotline last year] with tips about suspicious activity, about 2,000 of which resulted in terrorism-related leads. Officials would not comment on how many arrests, if any, were made based on the information. Other types of calls received include random complaints against the MTA, we assume of the where-the-#$*&#@-is-the-train? variety.
