Old White Guys To Take Dorky To New Heights
On May 14 at the National press Club in Washington, D.C., White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, who came back to work today after battling cancer, will face off against CBS News' Bob Schieffer.
In a battle of the bands.
Snow's band, Beats Workin', will compete against Schieffer's band, Honky Tonk Confidential, in the first such battle ever, titled "Honky Tonk Meets the White House Wonk."
This is an incredibly generous thing for Tony and Bob to do, said National Press Club President Jerry Zremski. I can think of no better way for the NPC to kick off its centennial countdown than with these two giants of media and government.
Snow plays the flute and guitar in Beats Workin'. Prepare yourself.
Alas, we do not have video of Schieffer's musical output. [Though there is audio...]
Both men are cancer survivors, so they do share a kinship besides music. This will be more than a night of great rock and honky tonk. It will be a celebration of the human spirit," said Zremski.
