Offering Directions Leads to Robbery

A friendly Queens man was robbed on Sept. 25 at 8:55 p.m. in Riverside Park after offering a mugger directions. Cops said the mugger approached the man, who was sitting with a woman, near West 78th Street, and asked him what direction downtown was. As the man pointed the direction, the mugger pulled out a gun covered in a white plastic shopping bag and said, “Do you think I’m kidding?” The man handed over his iPhone while the woman gave him $5.
