Obama’s Night at the Apollo

| 11 Nov 2014 | 01:50

Get ready for it: Senator Barack [Obama will host] “A Night at the Apollo” this Thursday at Harlem’s famous Apollo Theater at 253 W. 125th St.  Obama’s polling among black voters is split more or less down the middle with Hillary Clinton’s, and his hosting the event at the most famous club for black performers in the country is likely aimed to pull more of the crucial Democratic demographic his way.

The event, which takes place at 7pm this Thursday night, marks the first time Obama has appeared in Harlem since announcing his campaign, the official slogan of which, we hear, is, “The Audacity of Hoping Clinton Chokes.”

Admission to the fundraiser can be obtained at the Hue Man Bookstore and Café at 2319 Frederick Douglass Blvd., between 124th and 125th Street, or online at https://my.barackobama.com/apollo.  The event costs $50.

No word yet if the usual taunts and boos will be allowed...
