NY1's Kiernan Takes On Pop Culture

[VH-1] is almost as obsessed with New York as me. That’s why it’s cool to tune in tonight at 9 p.m. to watch [Pat Kiernan](http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/media/features/4344/), morning anchor of NY1, host the “[World Series of Pop Culture](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_Series_of_Pop_Culture).” It's not exactly hard-hitting news, but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. In this all new episode, New York’s Twisted Misters are battling to advance to the semi-finals against Maryland’s Fragily, a team that beat 2006 Champions El Chupacabra in the first round.  The show is [Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture](http://www.trivialpursuit.com/trivialpursuit/boardgames_dvd.html) gone reality TV, with three teams of three people each and categories in music, television and film. Much like Alex Trebek, Kiernan asks a question and the contestant representing the team must answer correctly, otherwise the opponent can steal. The first team to eliminate all of the other players wins. But what’ll keep you on the edge of your seat is the chance to see Kiernan embarrass the players with crazy questions and comments. And you thought NY1 only had expressionless, snaggle-toothed anchors.
