NEWSSTAND BURGLED

a man discovered on march 13 that his newsstand, on the northeast corner of broadway and west 83rd street, had been robbed. the owner of abul newsstand told police that he locked his business with two padlocks at 9:30 p.m. when he returned the next day at 7 a.m., the locks were missing and the door was open. the robber had taken $1,530 in cigarette cartons and $1,300 in cash, cops said.
