! ! We can’t believe the month of May is already here (tomorrow). Celebrate this new beginning with plenty of fairs, festivals and workshops designed to get you into the “spring” of things.

Monday, April 30
Parade of Illuminations on The High Line
Beginning at West 30th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues
7:30pm

The Parade of Illuminations kicks off the 8th Annual World Voices Festival of International Literature. During the procession, participants of all ages can capture pieces of text out of the air to represent the fleeting sense of literature in our technology-centric world. Kids will love the huge, animated puppets!

Tuesday, May 1
Terracotta Warriors At Discovery Times Square
226 West 44th Street

All ages can peruse life-size warriors and ancient Chinese artifacts at Discovery’s newest exhibit.

Wednesday, May 2
Mommybites Summit 2012: The Ultimate Moms’ Night Out at the New Yorker Hotel
481 8th Avenue
6-9:30pm

Treat yourself to a Moms’ Night Out (dads are welcome, too)! The Mommybites Summit 2012 is chock-full of learning, socializing and shopping. The first 150 people to sign up will even receive a Britax stroller organizer! Guest speaker Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project, will share her advice at the Speakers Corner.
