A new Gallup Poll released this morning asks whether Americans would be comfortable voting for candidates based on specific personal and physical characteristics. If the poll is to be believed, most 2008 front-runners don't have anything to worry about.

Gallup found that 84% of Americans are comfortable voting for a black candidate, 77% for a woman, 60 % for a Mormon and 55% for a candidate who has been married three times.

So Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani are in the clear, at least according to Gallup. Who's in trouble? John McCain. The poll found that just 42% of American voters would be comfortable pulling the lever for a 72 year-old candidate.
