What a shame for the good, honest citizenry that can’t use MCcarren pool without feeling threatened by the trashy underpriveleged people who harass and menace— and get away with it , the ones who have no respect for law, order or fellow citizens. The failing youth that should be in summer school will be cutting , appearing at the pool to flout rules, diss lifeguards and steal your valuables—BEWARE!!! Honestly though–was it EVER any different?
You don’t have these problems at most public pools in the burbs, probably because people pay higher taxes and have more appreciation and civility—they don’t even have security…don’t need it.Good people unfortunately are trapped in the hood, ya know?
What a waste of taxpayer money on the renovated pool—$50 million??? WHY? WHY? Taxpayer $$$$ could be spent on better community projects , like, on say, on building more half way houses, detention centers and lock ups to keep the punks away from the good people who just want to go for a swim. Unfortunately, the mob rules and thuggery prevails in Brooklyn—as a resident I know it was always that way, got robbed 4 times as a kid.. If cops start appearing in any significant numbers as a deterrent to crime , or to protect the innocent from the savages they will be seen as hateful, racist occupiers. And complicit liberal media will also portray them as such.Shame!
Shut down the pool and let the BROOKLYNITES go back to the cheaper, old fashioned way of recreating in the summer heat—use the fire hydrants!!!
