On Wednesday, October 16, officials gathered at the site of a new post-acute cardiac rehabilitation program, a collaboration between Jewish Home Lifecare and NYU Langone Medical Center, at the W. 106th Street campus of Jewish Home Lifecare. The 25-bed unit will allow clinicians to coordinate complex care to cardiac rehabilitation candidates across multiple specialties. This new program hopes to ensure best patient outcomes from admission to treatment and through the recovery process.

"Post acute providers are in the unique position to develop strategies and programming with acute care hospitals and other health care providers," said Mark S. Levy, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer at Jewish Home Lifecare. "Post acute care offers a comprehensive, cost-effective, outcome-based approach for patients requiring short-term, complex physical or medical rehabilitation from a physician interdisciplinary team. Jewish Home pioneered post acute care in the 1980's and our programming has grown to include complex medical care and extensive dynamic skilled therapy."
